The Best Gifts for Digital Nomads – For Any Budget

What is the best gift for a digital nomad?

It can be hard to find the right present for a digital nomad, I know.

Should it be electronics, or something that will bring them the comforts of home? What if they already have that? What if it’s too heavy for them to carry?

I have been a digital nomad for more than 10 years now and I know how much my friends and family struggle to find me a gift. So, I thought I’d create a list of gifts for digital nomads.

From experiences to electronics, there is a little something on this list for everyone – so you can make sure that you are giving the perfect nomad gift!

The Best Gifts for Digital Nomads

1. A Drone

A drone in the air with a hand holding the drone controller

One of my favorite things about traveling is being able to see places from a completely different angle. And honestly, nothing does that better than a drone.

Whether it’s flying over turquoise water, weaving through mountains, or catching the vibe of a city from above, a drone just makes the memories that much more epic.

I’ve traveled with DJI drones for years now and love them. They’re lightweight, reliable, and honestly just so much fun to use.

If you’re looking for the ultimate gift for a digital nomad, I’d suggest the DJI Mini 5 Pro (which I have myself and love). It’s small enough to carry anywhere (under 250 g, which also keeps things easier with drone rules), and the obstacle sensors make flying way less stressful. Plus, it shoots amazing video, including vertical format for Instagram or TikTok.

Check the DJI Mini 5 Pro on Amazon here.

If you want something super light, or if you think the DJI Mini 5 is a bit of an excessive gift (couldn’t disagree with you there!), the DJI Neo is a fantastic alternative. It’s tiny (only 135 g!) but still shoots good 4K video, and it’s very easy for beginners to fly.

See the DJI Neo on Amazon here.

Trust me, whichever one you go for, it’s the kind of gift a digital nomad will never forget.

2. A Fun Travel Journal: This Notebook Has No Idea Where It’s Going

Some of the best travel memories aren’t the ones you plan for. It’s the lazy afternoons on a hidden beach, the night you got lost but stumbled onto the best little café, or that random stranger who turned into a lifelong friend. Those are the moments you don’t want to forget, and that’s where a travel journal comes in.

I love writing things down when I’m on the road.

This fun travel-themed journal gives space to write down all of it, with inspiring quotes sprinkled throughout to spark ideas and help capture moments before they fade.

Honestly, flipping back through my old travel journals always makes me smile.

It’s a great gift for digital nomads, travel lovers, or anyone who loves collecting experiences along the way.

You can pick between a hardcover version if you want a solid, more luxury feel, or a lightweight paperback if you’re trying to pack light.

Fun fact: the drawing on the cover isn’t just a pretty design. It’s an island that really exists! You can read about that story here.

3. A Solar Power Bank: BigBlue 28W Solar Panel with 3 USB Ports

gifts for nomads: a solar power bank

This is an ideal gift for anyone who travels to areas with an unreliable energy grid – so it’s a perfect gift for nomads!

The freedom to be able to charge your electronics no matter where you are is something I, and pretty much any digital nomad I know, really value.

A little sad but true, one of my worst fears is to arrive in a new city, need Google Maps to navigate, and then my phone dies just as I am completely lost… That’s an important reason for me to always carry a power bank!

This power bank is one of the highest-rated solar chargers, vetted by sites such as thewirecutter and outdoorgearlab as being sturdy, reliable, and powerful.

You can find this power bank here on Amazon

A universal adapter that will work virtually anywhere you travel to is a very practical and affordable gift for a digital nomad.

This 7-in-1 travel adapter works in over 150 countries and is available in a few different colors, to add some personality to it.

It’s a great, practical gift both for the newbie nomad and the experienced one.

5. Give an experience: Tinggly

The problem with buying gifts for digital nomads is that they often want to travel as light as possible.

What can you give the person who has planned their bag down to the last ounce? Easy! Give them an experience.

With Tinggly, you choose the type of box – for him, her, or a couple, luxurious or adventurous (and more!) – and buy it for your nomad.

The boxes contain the choice of one of over 500 experiences in over 100 countries. Your nomad picks the one they want, and they can book the experience whenever they want!

From a cooking class in Valencia to a luxury resort stay in the Maldives and many other unique experiences all over the world.

It’s an ideal setup that allows you to give them the experience of a lifetime without having to guess what they would like to do or where they will be next.

Many people say that an experience is a much better gift than an object, and Tinggly is sure to be a hit.

6. A GlocalMe Mobile Hotspot

a gift idea for a digital nomad

Of course one of the most important things for digital nomads is reliable internet.

And that isn’t always easy when traveling!

The GlocalMe Mobile Hotspot is a great solution. It’s a small device you can easily carry with you to provide reliable internet, whether you travel in your own country or abroad.

So, you don’t have to search for a café with good internet anymore or worry about whether there’s Wi-Fi on that long train journey.

Plus, you won’t have to buy any local sim cards anymore when you travel to a different country because the GlocalMe works with data plans that you can activate online, and in almost every country in the world.

7. A Laptop Stand

a digital nomad who needs a laptop stand

As a digital nomad we often don’t have the perfect work setup.

While working from a cafe, tables are generally not at a perfect height and we end up hunched over our laptops for hours.

Even in coworking spaces or when using a desk in a hotel room, the setup isn’t always great.

A simple laptop stand makes a huge difference!

I love this laptop stand because it’s inexpensive, good quality, and folds really small.

8. A Water-Resistant and Shock-Proof Laptop Sleeve

A laptop sleeve that is water-resistant and shock-proof is an ideal gift for a digital nomad – because their computer is their lifeline!

For work and for keeping up with friends and family, if their computer gets damaged, things will get difficult very quickly!

This laptop sleeve is an inexpensive gift that is functional, and they’ll think of you every time they sit down to get to work.

10. Packing Cubes

packing cubes as a gift for digital nomads

For years I’d heard of packing cubes but thought I didn’t need them.

But, once a friend gifted me a set of packing cubes I completely changed my mind!

When you’re regularly living out of a suitcase or a backpack, moving locations, constantly packing and unpacking, it’s easy for your bag to turn into complete chaos.

Packing cubes are such a simple way to organize your items!

Believe me, every digital nomad will love this.

You can find a wide range of packing cubes here on Amazon

11. A Personalized Passport Holder

It’s a great way to show you’ve put some thought into their gift. And of course, this is a great gift not just for nomads, but for anyone who has a passport and likes to travel.

12. Make a Donation: CharityWatch

best gift ideas for digital nomads: make a donation

Many people want to pay their good fortune forward and give to charities.

One way to let your loved ones know that you care, both about them and the world, is to give a donation in their name.

Foundations like CharityWatch.org help you find charities that do the most good with the donations they receive, so you can rest assured that your donation is going to help people in need.

Pick a cause that you know your nomad cares deeply about – from elephant sanctuaries in Thailand to housing the homeless in California, and give support in their name.

13. A Travel Pillow

A good neck pillow is a must-have item for any traveler!

I personally like the memory foam neck pillows, but there is a wide range of options and prices when it comes to travel pillows.

Give the gift of comfort and the ability to sleep on those long-haul flights around the world!

You can find a large selection of travel pillows here on Amazon

14. A LifeStraw Water Bottle With Filter

If you’re looking for a gift for a digital nomad who travels abroad or to more remote places regularly, then have a look at this water bottle.

There are many places where they say you shouldn’t drink the water unless you filter it, and that’s exactly what this water bottle does.

So that means there is no need anymore to buy disposable water bottles, which saves money and is a lot better for the environment.
