The best travel pictures on Instagram

I have been sharing a selection of pictures from my own travels on Instagram for several years now as @whereissanne

More recently though I created something new: #SpendLifeTraveling

Let’s face it, there are better photographers out there than I am and as much as I would like to visit the entire world, I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

So I began to think of a way to share more amazing travel pictures to inspire more people to travel to unknown places.

That’s how #SpendLifeTraveling started. I have created a new Instagram account @SpendLifeTraveling where everyone who tags a travel picture with #SpendLifeTraveling can get featured.

This way I can share the best travel pictures that Instagram has to offer and help you discover new amazing destinations.

With every image I include a description of what makes this place cool, unique and worth visiting.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Zion National Park, Utah, USA

When you enter Zion National Park you will experience a feeling that won’t quite fit inside your camera. Your eyes will search to take it all in. The colors will astound you. The perspective will humble you. The immensity will leave you in awe.

Zion means “the heavenly city”. Zion National Park is a southwest Utah nature preserve distinguished by Zion Canyon’s steep red cliffs. Zion National Park is 30 miles in length and 15 miles across at its widest point, totaling 148,000 acres. Elevations range from 4,000 to 8,700 feet.

Gaze up at massive sandstone cliffs of cream, pink, and red that soar into a brilliant blue sky. Experience wilderness in a narrow slot canyon. Zion’s unique array of plants and animals will enchant you as you absorb the rich history of the past and enjoy the excitement of present day adventures.

This picture was taken at The Subway in Zion National Park

The Subway is the most popular backcountry hike in Zion, and for good reason! In a park of exemplary beauty, The Subway is one of the most diverse and beautiful canyons. Nice pools lead to the round part, for which the place is named.

The Subway is a short, spectacular section of the Left Fork of North Creek. The journey through the Left Fork of North Creek involves route finding, plunging cautiously into chilly pools then sloshing through frigid water over and through obstacles. The narrow Subway section of this hike takes hikers through a unique tunnel. Churning water chisels the rock floor, forming shallow potholes that fill with frosty water. Silhouettes dance freely on multi-colored walls where only a trickle of sun light penetrates into the curved chamber of the Subway. Falling water echoes in the nature carved tunnel where dragonflies dart, frogs laze about and shimmering emerald pools tempt hikers to dawdle…
