Are you looking for a nice cafe with good wifi in Curacao?
Thankfully most cafes and restaurants on the island offer wifi but of course, some places are nicer to work from than others.
So, that’s what I want to share here: cafes that are comfortable to spend a few hours in to get some work or studying done, or to just enjoy some good internet access.
Note: I’ve included a map of all the cafes to work from at the end of the article. So just scroll down if you want to know where on the island these cafes are.
The Best Cafés in Curaçao to Work From
1. Bonchi Coffeehouse

This is a cute cafe in the center of Willemstad, loved by both locals and tourists.
They open at 7.30am and offer good breakfast options, making it a great place to start your day.
The café has good wifi, air conditioning, and they keep the music down. They also have a couple of plugs on the wall, in case you need them.
Apart from good breakfast options, they have a wide range of coffees, some nice pastries and a good lunch menu.
Most days this cafe does close at 3pm (check Google maps for all opening hours), so don’t get here too late.
Note: the owner is a furniture designer and loves changing the interior. So, by the time you get here the interior might already look different! But, it’s always comfortable and stylish.
2. Maira’s Kitchen

Maira’s is a cute cafe with wifi in a quiet part of Willemstad.
You can work inside or in their shaded garden.
The staff is friendly, the cafe is generally quiet and they offer a good lunch menu.
Most days Maira’s stays open until 10pm, but check Google Maps for exact opening hours on the day you plan to visit.
3. Van Gogh Specialty Coffee

Van Gogh is a cute drive-through coffee shop. But, they have both an indoor and outdoor seating area as well, and especially the bright indoor seating area is perfect to work from.
The wifi is acceptable (slow when it gets busier), there are several plugs, and indoors it’s generally quiet.
On weekdays Van Gogh opens at 7am, so it’s perfect for an early start.
Besides good coffee they offer a selection of baked goods, savory snacks, and some good lunch items. I find the food a little overpriced but the coffee is great.
Note: they have air conditioning but I’ve never seen them turn it on, so on hot days it can get quite warm inside.
4. Boosty

Boosty feels a little bit like a fast-food chain, but it’s actually a good place to work from.
They offer good breakfast options, a wide range of salads and sandwiches, and good coffees plus healthy juices.
They open at 8am, there is plenty of parking and their wifi is better than I’ve seen in many other cafes (don’t expect amazing speeds though). There are several plugs available and, for those hot summer days, their air conditioning is really good.
Most days the café is quiet and I like to come here both for breakfast and for lunch.
They do close at 3pm on most days.
5. Number Ten

This is a lovely cafe with different rooms and a sizeable courtyard.
The different rooms have a nice, cozy living room feeling with a mismatch of chairs and tables.
Their internet is good (for Curaçao standards) and they have a wide range of breakfast and lunch options.
Get here early though because it can get busy around lunchtime and they close at 3pm.
6. Mundo Bizarro

This cafe, with its Cuban-style interior, is worth visiting, just because of the adorable look!
They are also generally quiet during the day, which makes it a good place to work from. They play lively cuban / latin music (at low volume) so if that would distract you maybe just stop here for a work break.
The wifi is ok, although it’s by no means the best internet in Curaçao, and they don’t have air conditioning.
The cafe offers several breakfast options, a good lunch and dinner menu, and delicious cocktails.
Happy hour starts at 5:30, so then it can get noisier and less suitable for work, unless you’re looking for a livelier afternoon.
On Saturdays they have live music.
One More Cafe to Work From in Curacao: Starbucks
Although I tend to avoid chains when there are good alternatives, Starbucks is a good fallback option.
Their location in Willemstad looks exactly like any other Starbucks. So, unless you’ve never been inside one you know what to expect.
The good thing about this Starbucks compared to most other cafes on this list is that it stays open until 10pm or 11pm, depending on the day of the week.
An Alternative to Working From Cafes: A Coworking Space
As working remotely and the digital nomad lifestyle have become more popular, Curaçao now also has a few coworking spaces.
I haven’t tried any coworking spaces in Curaçao, but if you’re interested in one, check out Workspot Curaçao or coWorld, both located in Willemstad.
Final thoughts About Cafes and Wifi in Curacao
As I mentioned earlier, almost all cafes and restaurants in Curacao offer wifi.
But, you’re still on an island in the Caribbean, so don’t expect the fastest wifi. When running speed tests in different cafes I often got results well below 5 MBPS (upload and download).
If your job or business relies on fast wifi Curacao might not be the best place for you.
There are two providers on the island offering prepaid sim cards: Digicel and Chippie/Flow. I’ve always had a Digicel sim card and the connection is generally ok. But again, don’t expect the fastest connection.
